The Gift Worth Giving

What would you do for a prize that is invaluable
A trophy that you know cannot be won...

A gift that cannot be taken

You wish to envision what it may be like
What is enclosed in the extravagant casing
But you know it is too delicate to imagine
At the attention, it may shatter and be left to dust

The catch is that this idea is in your midst
You can perceive it, you could capture it...

If it were yours to take

You sense that you know much about it
But learn that your knowledge extends to nothing
Yet, you recognize that the desire to discover
Is the very key to unchain it

Many have been here before you
They have held the act in their longing hands...

But their self left them in ruin

They have taken this noble reward
Distorted its heart
But left the name to be known
And they have sold it to the lottery

There are few left here
Few that know the true heart...

May they be a light in the darkness
